ACHIEVING THE IMPOSSIBLE

“For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37 ESV).

Life is full of impossibilities…a marriage that is broken, a child that has strayed in the wrong direction, or a physical ailment declared untreatable by a doctor.  The coronavirus has created a fear of the unknown and torn apart the securities of many people.  I like what one preacher said, “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities, brilliantly disguised as impossible situations” (C. Swindoll).

Mary, the mother of Jesus, was told by the angel that she was going to have a child, and his name would be called Jesus.  She said, how can this be since I am a virgin?  The angel said, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you…for nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:31-37).  Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants.  May everything you have said come true” (Luke 1:38).  She was willing to believe God for what He promised!

What are your impossibilities today?  Have they depressed you or frozen your faith?  I can assure you God is the God of the impossible!  He will carry you through in your greatest weakness, but you have to trust Him by faith that He will.  In this time of trouble, reach out to God through prayer, Scripture and by faith let Him show you the impossible!
