May God bless your day. Happy Friday

Matthew 1:18-25

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people.

Think this through.

1. Young couple to be married.

2. Baby from the Holy Spirit.

3. Wedding plans now rushed.

4. Gossip, shame, embarrassment.

5. Doubt by Joseph

6. No marriage consummation. Born of a virgin. Imagine telling young couples to wait until God is done with His plan before they consummate their marriage.

Isaiah 7:14

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

Yet they listened to God. This young couple started out their married life with sacrifice. The Earthly family of Christ started with huge, sacrifices in order to bring us a Savior.

What do you do when God calls on you to help, deliver a meal, attend a prayer service, visit the elderly, take in someone, give a little more cash, teach a child, or baby sit for a single parent?

God's calls to us are never convenient. You see He is God and we need to adjust our schedule to His. Not Him to ours. Does God control your calendar or do you?
